Ronald Gene Tangeman, 51, of Topeka, died Thursday, November 19, 2009 after a brave and brief battle with cancer.
Ron was born January 26, 1958 in Marysville, Kansas to Jack and Eleanor Tangeman. He was preceded in death by his father Jack Tangeman in 1982. Ron graduated from Hays High School in 1976.
He was a master plumber and worked for Cooper’s Inc. of Topeka. Ron had worked for Bob Gile Plumbing and previously owned Central Kansas Plumbing both in Salina.
Ron had several hobbies including, disc golf, watching the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas University Jayhawks, NASCAR, crossword puzzles and games.
He is survived by his mother Eleanor McMindes and stepfather Jim of Hays, daughter Tara Brandt of North Platte, NE, son Sgt. Christopher Gene Frame and wife Mindy of Jacksonville, NC, brother David Tangeman and wife Vickie of Salina, sister Janis Lawrence and husband Corbett of Raleigh, NC and three grandchildren Calista O’Rourke, North Platte, NE, Tyson and Andrea Frame of Jacksonville, NC. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Brian and Krystal Tangeman of Topeka, Leslie Tangeman, Morrisville, NC and Jackson and Julie Lawrence of Raleigh, NC, two step brothers and two step sisters and their families, and his many close friends.
Ronald was cremated. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. at the Messiah Lutheran Church, 2000 Main St., Hays. Inurnment will be at a later date in Mount Allen Cemetery in Hays.
Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care Hospice House of Topeka or the Tangeman Scholarship Fund at Ft. Hays State University and sent in care of the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, KS 66603.
