Lorna Lee Bailey

Lorna Lee “MeeMo” Bailey, 77, of Topeka, died November 10, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital.

She was born in Alton, Kansas on April 21, 1932 the daughter of Coleman Leslie and Hettie Alice (Strange) McClellan.  She was a graduate of Alton High School.

Lorna will be remembered for her love of her family, and especially being a mom, grandma and great grandma.

She was a member of Terra Heights Baptist Church.

Lorna worked for the past 17 years for Sam’s Club as a demonstrator.

Lorna married Willis Bailey on September 30, 1950 in Stockton, Kansas.  He preceded her in death on April 25, 2005. 

She is survived by three sons, Bradley Bailey of Topeka, Reginald Bailey and wife Veneva of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Chad Bailey and wife Kimberly of Topeka, a daughter, Uvonda Meinholdt and  Scott of Topeka, seven grandchildren, Candice, Derek, Jason, Garrett, Sheldon, Morgan and Peyton and one great granddaughter, Kaylea.  She is also survived by a special friend Larry Kerley.

Lorna will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Friday after 2:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m.  Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
