Lucille Tinoco

Lucille M. Tinoco, 87, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2009 at Stormont-Vail Health Care.

 

She was born November 3, 1921 in Fairbury, NE the daughter of Nievez and Alberta (Ruiz) Munoz.

 

Lucille was a homemaker but she worked as a welder during WW II.  She was active in the cub scouts and boy scouts with her sons.  Lucille was also active in Democratic politics in her younger years.

 

She was a member of Mater Dei Parish.

 

Lucille was married to Victor M. Tinoco, Sr. on February 2, 1942 in Washington.  He preceded her in death on August 20, 1996.  A daughter Cynthia Mendoza died October 31, 1991 and a grandson Dominic Tinoco died October 7, 2009.

 

Survivors include four sons, Victor, Tinoco, Jr. and his wife Dixie, Ronald “Ace” Tinoco, Anthony Tinoco and his wife Marsha K. and Rodney “Lego” Tinoco all of Topeka, a brother Raymond Munoz of Beatrice, NE, two sisters, Toni Hidalgo of Topeka and Dorothy Frazier of Boston MA, ten grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and one great great grandson.

 

Mrs. Tinoco will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where a parish rosary will be prayed at ?? p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Mater Dei’s Assumption Church.  Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation sent in care of the funeral home, 800 SW 6th Ave, 66603.
