Leonard Binkley

March 31, 1944 — October 27, 2009

Leonard “Len” Binkley, 65, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at Williamstown as a result of an automobile accident.

 

He was born March 31, 1944 in Topeka the son of Fred Alfred and Flo (Cunningham) Binkley.  Len graduated from Maur Hill High School in 1962.

 

Len was employed in sales for WIBW for twenty-five years.

 

He was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church and AA.

 

Len is survived, by his wife Laverne, step-son Jim McKay II, step-grandson Jim McKay III.  Two brothers, Jerold A. Binkley of Topeka and Joseph F. Binkley D.C. of Edmond, OK also survive.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, James W. Binkley in 1974 and Thomas E. Binkley in 1993.

 

Len will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. today at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where a parish rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church.  Burial will be in Leavenworth National Cemetery.
