Rudolph F. “Rudy” “Tútis” Arellano, 46, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2009 at Stormont-Vail Health Care surrounded by his family.
He was born November 2, 1962 in Kansas City, MO the son of Florencio and Soledad (Florez) Arellano. He was a 1981 graduate of Hayden High School.
Rudy was a conductor for the Union Pacific Railroad.
He had a variety of interests and hobbies including; remodeling, watching racing, Dallas Cowboys and KU fan, guns and knives, working out, electronics, Coca-Cola, Big Red, playing softball and most of all watching his girls play sports.
Rudy was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and the National Rifle Association.
He was married to Rosanne Ramirez on May 18, 1985 in Topeka. They divorced in December of 2005. He was preceded in death by his mother Soledad Arellano on August 2, 2000, grandparents, Jesus and Maria Jesus Florez and Florencio and Julia Arellano, aunts and uncles Raymond Florez, Jesus Florez, Jr., Joseph Florez, Delores Lujan, Jenny Alonzo, Cruz Alonzo and Luz Sanchez.
Rudy is survived by four daughters, Michelle Dawn Blocker, Alyssa Danielle Arellano, Illena Bianca Arellano and Alana LePage Arellano all of Topeka, father Florencio Jr. and wife Norma of Mesquite, TX, two brothers, David Patrick Arellano of Topeka and Adam Arellano of Mesquite, TX, three grandchildren, Jose Orlando Fonseca II, Maliyah Marie Nykol Blocker and Marisah Kylyn Renea Fonseca all of Topeka, six aunts and uncles, Danny Sanchez, Henry Florez, Gregory Florez all of Topeka, Mary Galvan of San Antonio, TX and Arturo Arellano and Armando Arellano both of Dallas, TX. Three nieces and nephews also survive, Allie Maria Arellano, Mia Alexandra Arellano and Justin Patrick Arellano all of Topeka.
Rudy will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where a rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
