Jessie Williams Jr.

Jessie Williams Jr., 57, of Topeka, died October 14, 2009 at Eventide Convalescent Center.

He was born in Picayune, Mississippi on April 1, 1952 the son of Jessie and Catherine Ruth (Gordon) Williams Sr.

Jessie served in the United States Air Force during the Gulf War.  He had worked for Josten’s. 

He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and loved to fish and travel.

Jessie married Denise Dunnigan in New Orleans, LA. on October 29, 1979.  They later divorced.  He is survived by one son, Jessie Williams III and one daughter, Lashanna Williams both of Aurora, CO., two sisters,  Marilyn Thompson of Picayune, MS., and Venita (Thomas) Fondal of Topeka, two brothers, Paul (Clara) Williams of Weaver, AL., and Julius (Deborah) Williams of Atlanta, GA., and three grandchildren, Camwrin Harris, Jessica Williams and Jessie Williams IV. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Albert Clarence Williams and two sisters, Cora Diane Garrett and Dorcas Darlene Gordon.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the Ebenezer Baptist Church.  Interment will be in the Picayune Cemetery in Picayune, Mississippi at a later date.
