Helen M. Smith

The 95 year life of Helen M. Smith ended October 8, 2009 in Topeka.  Born January 10, 1914 to John P. and Ellen T. Young at Salina.  She married Edwin R. Smith on July 30, 1936.  Surviving to honor her memory are Mary Remus and husband Kim of Asherville,  Kathy Hennes and husband Dan of Berryton, Bill Smith and wife Dottie of Durham, CT, Annette Smith of Topeka, her sister Mary Decker in NJ, eleven grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.  A parish rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church where Helen was a member.  Cremation will follow.  Memorial contributions may be made to Most Pure Heart of Mary School and sent in care of the funeral home, 800 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, KS 66603.  Online condolences to www.brennanmathenafh.com.
