Ellen P. Steffes

Ellen P. Steffes, 82, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at Midland Hospice.

She was born July 25, 1927 in Riverdale, NY the daughter of Edward and Helen (Roberts) Munro.

Ellen was a property manager for Cohen-Esrey Real Estate Services before she retired.

She enjoyed music, dancing, tennis and sailing.  One of Ellen’s great loves was watching Law and Order and eating a big plate of spaghetti.

Ellen was married to Robert V. Steffes for fifty-three years.  He preceded her in death on January 17, 2007.

Survivors include; three sons, Peter Steffes of Topeka, Robert Steffes, Jr. of Fort Worth, TX and Charles Steffes on the Island of Hawaii, one daughter Jayne Steffes of Topeka and one sister Jane Sullivan in CT.  Six grandchildren and one great grandson also survive.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Christ the King Catholic Church.  Inurnment is pending.
