Barbara Seibert, 73, of Topeka, died September 26, 2009 at Aldersgate Village.
She was born in Garden City, Kansas on March 8, 1936 the daughter of John and Barbara Ann (Puhl) Schiffelbein.
Barbara worked for Woolworth’s in her younger years. She later worked as a file clerk for National Reserve Life which later became Security Benefit Life. Barbara also made many wedding cakes and candy.
She married John Seibert in Topeka, Kansas on March 14, 1958. He survives of the home. She is also survived by two sons, John Edward Seibert of the home, and Timothy A. Seibert of Kansas City, Ks., three daughters, Cheryl Jones (Jerry), Phyllis Colleen Gaines (Anthony), and Paula Ann Gartner (Doug) all of Topeka, eleven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Charles and Jim Schiffelbein and two sisters, Lucy Franks of Wichita and Margaret Keehn of Soldier, Kansas.
Mrs. Seibert will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Monday after 2:00 p.m. where a Parish Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
