Mary Jean Ambrosio

Mary Jean (Zanotti) Ambrosio, 101 years young, passed away on September 24, 2009 with her family in Norfolk, Virginia.

She was born February 20, 1908 in the Pine Run area of Allegheny Township, Pennsylvania, the daughter of John and Frances Cuffia Zanotti. Her parents came to the United States from Northern Italy (Piemontesi).

Mrs. Ambrosio was associated with the Sacred Heart and Most Pure Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Churches. She was an avid reader and loved gardening. Mrs. Ambrosio enjoyed playing cards with the ladies at the First Christian Apartments.

She is predeceased by her loving husband, Frank Anthony Ambrosio and five sisters. Survivors include two sons, John Ambrosio of Topeka, Kansas and Joseph F. Ambrosio of Norfolk, Virginia, five grandchildren, Keri, Michael, Brooke, James, David, a great granddaughter, and a niece Frances Borello Matuscin.

A Memorial Mass  will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
