Eugene Joseph Bouley, 89, of Topeka, died August 9, 2009 at Lexington Park Care Facility.
He was born on February 27, 1920 in St. Joseph, Kansas the son of Gasper P. and Marie E. (Dandurand) Bouley. He was the youngest of eight children.
Mr. Bouley was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he served for three years during World War II, with two of those years in Europe.
He retired on May 1, 1983 from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company where he had 37 years of service.
Eugene was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, a life member of Knights of Columbus Council # 4254 at Most Pure Heart of Mary, Veteran’s of Foreign Wars and the Telephone Pioneers.
He married Mabel F. Cote in Waycross, Georgia on March 4, 1943. She survives of the home. He is also survived by a son Darrell E.(Barb) Bouley of Corydon, Iowa, two daughters, Sherry (Garry) Fleming of Norwalk, Iowa, and Val (Scott) Seely of Idaho Falls, Idaho, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Mr. Bouley will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Tuesday after 2:00 p.m. where a Knights of Columbus Council #4254 Rosary will be at 6:00 p.m. followed by the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery with military honors.
