Epigmenia de la Torre

Epigmenia de la Torre, 70, of Topeka, died August 8, 2009 at her home.

She was born in Villa Guerrero Jalisco Mexico on March 24, 1939 the daughter of Gregorio and Guadalupe (Gonzalez) Sigala.

Epigmenia was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.  She was a homemaker.

She married Juan de la Torre on April 25, 1959.  He survives.  She is also survived by her children:  Jesus Manuel de la Torre and wife Guillermina of Mexico, Elfega de la Torre of San Diego, California, Martin de la Torre of Topeka, Juan de la Torre and wife Margarita of Los Angeles, California, Miguel de la Torre of Topeka, Helia Nunez and husband Albino of Topeka and Maria Elisa de la Torre of Topeka and her sisters and brothers, Isabel, Hurbano, Aurora, Hirma and Rigoberto, and fifteen grandchildren.

Epigmenia will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Thursday after 2:00 p.m. where a Parish Vigil Service will be at 7:30 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
