David H. Wildermuth, 80, of Topeka, passed away August 4, 2009 in an angel’s home.
David was born September 22, 1928 in Ft. Scott the son of Quinton and Laura Wildermuth. He grew up in Parsons and Fort Scott and graduated from high school in Fort Scott. David served in the United States Army during WW II stationed in Germany.
He was employed by Sunbeam and Butterkrust Bakeries and retired from Mobile Fone of Kansas in 1994.
David was an avid reader with an extensive collection of books. He enjoyed all of his grandsons’ sporting events. He also loved the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals.
David was a member of Crestview United Methodist Church.
He was married to Glenna M. Icks on April 10, 1955 in Lawrence. She preceded him in death on February 28, 2009.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Karie Wildermuth; grandsons, Paul Jr. “PJ”, and Jason Dean “JD” Wildermuth, all of Topeka.
David’s graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Mt. Hope Cemetery with military honors provided by Philip Billard Post #1650 of the VFW.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Heart of America Hospice and sent in care of the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave., 66603.
