E. Cecelia Garcia

E. Cecelia Garcia, 64, of Topeka, passed away Friday, July 31, 2009 at the Cancer Treatment Center in Tulsa, OK.

She was born April 15, 1945 in Kansas City, KS the daughter of Glenn and Martha (Flores) Garcia.

Cecelia was an administrative secretary for Westar Energy at the time of her death.

She was an avid KU fan and loved to travel.

She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church where she was a volunteer.  Cecelia also volunteered for various other organizations.

Cecelia was married to Manuel Richard Garcia on June 27, 1964 in Lawrence.  He preceded her in death on December 15, 2008.

Survivors include; her mother Martha Garcia of Topeka, one son Marc R. Garcia of Topeka, two daughters, Marci R. Garcia of Topeka and Melissa R. Stueve and her husband Wesley of Eudora, three brothers, Danny Garcia of Lawrence, Bobby Garcia of Topeka, Michael Garcia of Lawrence and one sister Teresa Gutierrez of Topeka.  Four grandchildren, Miranda, Malia, Madden and Maddox also survive.

Cecelia will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church where a rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the church.  Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
