Luella M. Crouch

Luella M. Crouch, 76, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2009 at St. Francis Health Center.

 

She was born March 20, 1933 in Hoisington the daughter of John E. and Margaret (Kultgen) Koeller.

 

Luella was a secretary for the Iron Workers Union for several years.  She later was a medical clerk at Stormont-Vail Hospital before she retired.  After her retirement Luella enjoyed going to casinos.

 

She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church.

 

Luella was married to William M. Crouch, Jr. on June 17, 1952 in Hoisington.  He preceded her in death on September 24, 1986.  She also was preceded in death by two brothers, John and William Koeller and two grandsons, William and James Wrenn.

 

Survivors include; two sons, Jim (Donna) and David (Marilyn) Crouch all of Topeka, three daughters, Diane (Steve) Wrenn of Emporia, Debbie (Bill) Hutchison of Topeka, and Lori (Kevin) Chartier of Chester Springs, Pa, and one sister Margaret Ann Ney of Hoisington.  Thirteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren also survive.  The family wants to recognize Luella’s best friend and neighbor Barb Burkhardt and her family for all the care and love they shared with our mother.

 

Luella will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where a Prayer Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday at. St. Matthew Catholic Church.  Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew Catholic Church Capital Campaign and sent in care of the funeral home, 800 SW 6th Ave, 66603.
