Jon Michael Rowland

Jon Michael Rowland, 44, of Topeka, died June 6, 2009 at his home.

He was born on July 3, 1964 in Topeka, Kansas the son of Ronald Edward and Marilyn R. (Southard) Rowland.

Jon was a painter.  He and his fiancé had a painting company called the Urban Curbin which they operated the past 5 years.

He enjoyed painting, boating and especially loved animals.  He was a member of the Mater Dei Assumption Parish.

Jon is survived by his parents:  Marilyn Rowland and Douglas Flair of Topeka and Ronald and Debbie Rowland of Lawrence, his fiancé, Ellen Charon of the home,  two sons, Timothy Kemble of Carbondale and Dakota Payne of Lyons, Kansas; his sister, Kim (Jeff) Johansen of Topeka and brothers, Scott (April) Rowland of Topeka, Troy (Stacie) Flair of Topeka, Terry (Joyce) Flair of Ft. Worth, Texas, Ryan (Lindsay) Rowland of Charleston, S. C. and several nieces and nephews.

He will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Tuesday after 2:00 p.m. where a Parish Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. and the family will receive friends after the rosary until 8:00 p.m.  Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
