Joyce R. Maus, 62, of Topeka, died May 31, 2009 at her home.
Joyce was born on November 29, 1946 in Dumas, Texas the daughter of Ervin Zack and Leila (Harrison) Clark. She grew up in Barnsdall, Oklahoma and graduated in 1965 from Pawhuska High School in Pawhuska, Oklahoma.
She retired in 2005 as a Seasoning Operator for Frito Lay where she has worked for 25 years.
Joyce will be remembered for her love of being a “Granny”, fishing, cooking and was a KU Basketball fan. She was a member of Mother Theresa of Calcutta Catholic Church.
She married James E. Maus in Topeka, Kansas on June 8, 1985. He survives of the home. She is also survived by a son, Lance Roy Freeman and wife Julie of Ozark, Mo., one daughter, Jennifer Rae Wilson and husband Brent of Tulsa, OK., one brother, Earl Clark of Claremore, OK., and four grandchildren, Emily, Cambell, Clay and Levi. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Marvin Clark.
Joyce will lie in state at Mother Theresa of Calcutta Catholic Church, 2014 NW 46th, after 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, where the family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. and a Prayer Vigil Service will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Mother Theresa of Calcutta Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
