David E. Newsom

David Edward Newsom, 39, of San Dimas, CA, passed away Friday, May 15, 2009 in Topeka while visiting his parents.

He was born January 7, 1970 in Wichita the son of Gavin and Sondra (Hammons) Newsom. David graduated from the University of Kansas with a major in Sports Management.

David was director of sales for Wild Rocket in Riverside, CA.

He enjoyed all sports especially football.

David was married to Annette Jayne Henley on November 4, 2000 in Overland Park, she survives.  Other survivors include his two sons Cole and Kyle of the home and his parents of Topeka.

David will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home in Topeka where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.  The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cole and Kyle Newsom Education Fund and sent in care of the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave, Topeka, 66603.
