Edward W. Kline, 59, of Topeka died April 22, 2009 at Plaza West Regional Health Care Center.
He was born in Glendale Springs, Colorado on March 31, 1950 the son of George W. and Maxine M. (Rogers) Kline.
He attended several universities where he studied education and was fluent in many languages. Edward taught the third grade for parochial schools in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
He enjoyed drawing, painting, weaving and crafts. Edward was an avid Walt Disney fan. He was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church and on March 30th he was brought into the Oblates of the Benedictine Order by the Abbott.
Edward is survived by his foster son, David Pearce of New Jersey. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mr. Kline was cremated. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 9:30 a.m. at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. The family will receive friends prior to the mass. Inurnment will be in the Half-Day Cemetery at Elmont.
