John Thomas “Jack” Germonprez, 69, of Topeka, passed away Thursday February 26, 2009 at Hickory Pointe Care & Rehabilitation Center in Oskaloosa.
Jack was born August 9, 1939 in Topeka the son of Joseph H. and Dorothy I. (Ingenthron) Germonprez.
His hobbies included playing golf and cards, fishing, and story telling.
Jack was a Master Sergeant in the Kansas Air National Guard before he retired.
He was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church.
Jack was married to Louise Ann Pepper on October 6, 1962 in Bedford, MA. She survives.
Other survivors include; one son Mark Adam Germonprez of Huntsville, AL, three daughters, Deborah Ann Bodine and her husband Bob of Lyndon, Patricia Jean Powell and her husband John of Gardner and Karen Lee Brown and her husband Kevin of Moorpark, CA, three brothers, Raymond Germonprez and his wife Judy of Neenah, WI, Gerald Germonprez and his wife Sharon of Topeka, and Robert Germonprez and his wife Lois of Jesup, GA and two sisters, Barbara Boatwright and her husband Marvin of Greenwood, SC and Rebecca Germonprez of Acton, MA. Eleven grandchildren Eric and Austin Bodine, Nicklaus Germonprez, Ryan and Brent Berends, Cody, David and Chris Powell, Mitchell, Dustin, and Meghan Brown also survive.
Jack donated his body to The University of Kansas Medical Center for medical research.
A memorial service with military honors by the Kansas Air National Guard will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at a later date in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
