Gerald L. Stamm

Gerald L. “Jerry” Stamm Sr., 90, of Topeka, went to be with our Father in Heaven on December 23, 2008.

He was born in Topeka, Kansas on November 11, 1918 the son of Chester L. and Mable (Henshaw) Stamm.

Jerry owned Sound Recording Inc. until his retirement in 1980 and was a businessman most of his life.  He was a member of the Community Church.

Jerry married Dorothy L. McKenna on August 1, 1938 and recently celebrated 70 years of marriage.  She survives.  He is also survived by two daughters, Nancy (Jim) Finley and Carol (Bill) Von Hemel all of Topeka and one son, Jerry (Darcy) Stamm Jr. of Tecumseh, one brother, Dean (Carol) Stamm of St. Charles, Mo., eight grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and one great great grandson.  He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Stacy L. Wright and a great granddaughter, Leslie Von Hemel.

He will lie in state at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. at Friday from 8:00 a.m. until the service hour.  A graveside service will be held for Jerry and his granddaughter Stacy on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Topeka Cemetery Garden Chapel.
