Manuel R. Garcia

Manuel Richard Garcia, 63, of Topeka died December 15, 2008 at his home.

He was born in Topeka, Kansas on April 22, 1945 the son of Salvador and Alexandria (Hernandez) Garcia.

Manuel worked as a Building Operator for Robinson Middle School, USD #501.

He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, was an avid KU fan and loved to travel.

Manuel married E. Cecelia Garcia in Lawrence, Kansas on June 27, 1964.  She survives of the home.  He is also survived by one son, Marc R. Garcia of Topeka, two daughters, Marci  R. Garcia of Topeka and Melissa R. ( Wesley) Stueve of Eudora, one brother Robert J. Garcia of Knoxville, Tennessee and four grandchildren, Miranda, Malia, Madden and Maddox.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Mary Rodriguez and Carol Garcia and by a brother Fidel Garcia.

Mr. Garcia will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Tuesday after 4:00 p.m. where a  Parish Vigil will be held at 6:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
