Glada I. “Cossie” Dickey, 83, of Topeka, went peacefully home into the arms of her Lord Jesus Christ on September 16, 2008 at St. Francis Health Center.
She was born in Buckner, Missouri on December 2, 1924 the daughter of John T. and Neola (McNew) Costello.
Cossie worked as an Insurance Underwriter and retired from Lincoln National Insurance.
She was a charter member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, and served as past president of the Hayden Mother’s Club.
Cossie married C.W. “Bill” Dickey Jr. in Bristol, Virginia on January 15, 1944. He survives. Other survivors include three sons, Patrick William Dickey (Jane), Michael Thomas Dickey, and Mark Edward Dickey all of Topeka, one daughter, Ann Betty (Mike) of Tecumseh, one brother, James Edward Costello of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Mrs. Dickey will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Sunday, September 21st, after 2:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends from 3-4:30 p.m. and a Parish Vigil and Rosary will be held at 4:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
