Raymond L. McGinnis

Raymond L. McGinnis, age 68 of Topeka, passed away Saturday, September 06, 2008 at St. Francis Health Center.

He was born March 29, 1940 in Topeka the son of Armel McGinnis and Beulah (Hinkle) McAmis.

Raymond was a youth service worker at the Youth Center of Topeka before he retired.  In his leisure time, Raymond loved dancing, hunting and fishing.

He was a member of Post #400 of the American Legion.

Raymond was married to Carol Scheck on May 15, 1965 in Topeka.  She survives.

Other survivors include:  one son Michael L. McGinnis and his wife Lisa of Topeka, one daughter Rhonda L. Sharp of Topeka, son-in-law Roger Sharp of Topeka and one half-brother Jack McGinnis of Topeka.  Four grandchildren Tori, Samantha, Preston and Trevor also survive.  A sister Marion Bowler preceded him in death.

Raymond will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 4 to 7:00 p.m.  The funeral service will be held 12:00 p.m. Tuesday at St. Matthew Catholic Church.  Cremation will follow.
