Elizabeth Jane “Betty” Ehrhart, 76, of Carbondale, passed away Monday, August 18, 2008 at her home.
Elizabeth was born June 17, 1932 in Topeka the daughter of William and Sarah (Konrade) Moritz.
She was a certified medical assistant for various nursing homes in the Topeka area before she retired.
Elizabeth was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Osage City and a former member of the Daughters of Isabella.
She was married to Ernest D. Ehrhart on October 20, 1951 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Topeka. He survives.
Other survivors include; a son Ernest Daniel Ehrhart, Jr. and wife Michelle of Osage City, two daughters Teresa Carney and husband Steven of Axton, VA and Sara Beuchat and husband Wayne of Sapulpa, OK, a sister Jeanette Schreiner of Topeka and three brothers, William Moritz, Raymond Moritz, and Donald Moritz all of Topeka. She is also survived by her beloved nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A daughter Mary Jane Ehrhart preceded her in death in 1960.
Mrs. Ehrhart will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Thursday after 3:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. and a Parish Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. She will lie in state at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Osage City on Friday after 9:00 a.m. where a rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Topeka, Kansas.
