Timothy Michael Hopkins, 39, of Topeka, died August 1, 2008 in Pendleton, Indiana following a lengthy illness with brain cancer.
He was born on March 24, 1969 in Omaha, Nebraska the son of Michael and Dorothy (Cummins) Hopkins.
Tim was a graduate of Duchesne Catholic High School in St. Charles, Mo. and studied accounting at Truman State and the University of Missouri in St. Louis. He was a member of the accounting honors fraternity Beta Alpha Psi.
Tim loved to play softball and was an avid Nebraska Football fan. He especially loved being with his family and will be remembered as a hard worker.
He worked for Hallmark Cards as a stock handler and for UPS as a pre-loader.
Tim is survived by his mother, Dorothy C. Hopkins of Topeka, two sisters, Michelle Eakes and husband Brett of Topeka, Ann Marie Hopkins of Cartersville, Georgia, four nieces, Brittany, Ali, Kyndall, and Emery and one nephew, Kalen. He is also survived by his step father, John F. Head of Brighton, Colorado and step mother, Marilyn J. Petzold of Florissant, Mo. Tim was preceded in death by his father Michael J. Hopkins.
A Parish Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at Holy Name Catholic Church followed by a receiving of friends until the hour of service. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
