Francisco S. Ruiz

Francisco S. Ruiz age 80, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2008 at St. Francis Health Center.

He was born March 25, 1928 in Wellsville the son of Teodosio and Cesaria Segovia Ruiz.

Francisco was a carman for the AT & SF Railroad for forty years before he retired.

He loved the outdoors and enjoyed traveling.

Francisco was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church.

He was married to Delfina Blancas on March 29, 1947 in Ottawa.  She preceded him in death on February 2, 2000.  One brother and two sisters also preceded him in death.

Survivors include; two sons, Frank Ruiz, Jr. and his wife Sarah and Michael Ruiz and his wife Irene, three daughters, Susanne Brower and her finace Willie Lang, twin daughters, Phyllis Ruiz and her husband Michael Ybarra and Patricia Bryan and her husband Anthony Bryan all of Topeka, and one brother Johnnie Ruiz of Kansas City, MO.  Ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren also survive.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Matthew Catholic Church.  Interment will follow in Mount Calvary cemetery.  Mr. Ruiz will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.  A vigil prayer service with rosary will be at 6:30 p.m.
