Faustina Guzman, 86, of Topeka, died May 16, 2008 at Select Specialty Hospital. She moved to Topeka in 1998 coming from Lytle, Texas.
She was born in Lytle, TX on February 15, 1922 the daughter of Nemecio and Adela (Hernandez) Guzman.
Faustina was an apprentice dressmaker. She enjoyed reading , sewing and was an accomplished baker.
She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and L.U.L.A.C.
She is survived by one brother, Abel Guzman of Lytle, Texas; one sister Santos Martinez of Lytle, Texas; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Faustina was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Sigfredo and Paul Guzman.
She will lie in state at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Monday after 4:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. and a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
