Helen V. Geren, a long time resident of Topeka, born August 20, 1920, died April 29th in Grapevine, Texas.
Helen worked as a medical receptionist. After retiring from the medical field she worked part-time at the Fostoria Crystal House. She was a proud member of V.F.W. Post #1650 and was the first woman in Kansas to win the Master Angler Award in 1969.
Helen is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, William Geren. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Milton and her husband Bill; her son, Chris Geren; her sister, Dorothy (Dottie) Smoot and her husband Morris; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 on May 6th at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home. The family will receive friends before the service from 12:00 – 1:00. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
