Karla J. Hughes-Bailey

Karla J. Bailey-Hughes, 51, of Topeka, passed away Monday, April 28, 2008 at her home.

She was born March 2, 1957 in Topeka, the daughter of Frank and Lois Kurdziel.  Karla graduated from Topeka West High School in 1975.  She was a homemaker.

Karla’s passion was being a loving person and caring mother.  She enjoyed taking care of things, gardening, fishing, and auto trips. 

She is survived by daughter Candice Bailey of Taylorsville, Utah,  brother Ken Kurdziel of Newcastle, Oklahoma, aunt Grace Crouch of Topeka, cousin, Glady Kies of Carbondale, KS, two nephews and two nieces.  She was preceded in death by brother Kurt Kurdziel of Topeka.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Karla Bailey-Hughes Memorial Fund and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 West Sixth Ave., Topeka, Kansas  66603.
