Dorothea Wicks

Ruth Dorothea Wicks, 64, of Topeka, died March 30, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital.

She was born on April 8, 1943 in Neodesha, Kansas.  Ruth loved cats and enjoyed being a caregiver for others.

She is survived by her father, Arthur “Art” LaRue of Topeka, her children, Lisa Stopp of Oklahoma, Ron Wicks, Alisa Rucker, Debbie Costello and Michelle Brashear all of Pennsylvania and two sisters Peggy Baker of Ft. Worth, Texas and Debbie Robinson of Topeka. 

Ruth was preceded in death by her mom, Maye LaRue in 2007 and a brother Spencer LaRue in 1962.

She will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Thursday from 10-11 a.m. where the family will receive friends.  A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to First Free Will Baptist Church and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 West Sixth Ave., Topeka, Kansas  66603.
