Juanita Munoz

Juanita Munoz, 82, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2008 at St. Francis Health Center.

She was born May 25, 1925 in Valley Falls the daughter of Ascension and Benita (Aguilar) Juarez.

Juanita was a devoted member of Mater Dei Catholic Parish.

She was married to Edgar C. White in 1943 in Topeka.  He preceded her in death on December 15, 1974.  They are survived by a son John E. White and wife Teresa of Lawrence, a daughter Theresa M. White of Rochester, NY and two grandchildren, Joel and Lindsey White.  She later married Frank Munoz on November 27, 1982 at Assumption Church who preceded her in death on August 24, 2006.  Other survivors include her step children and many step grandchildren, brothers, Rito and Robert  and sisters, Catalina, Serafina, Lucille, Esperanza, Felipe and Maria Elena.  She was preceded in death by sisters, Teresa and Lupe and brother Frank.

Juanita will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Monday after 2:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.  A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Mater Dei’s Assumption Catholic Church.  Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
