Claire Jean Clerico, 86, passed away March 16, 2008 at Midland Hospice House after a brief illness. She resided at Lexington Park Assisted Living for the past three years.
She was born April 17, 1921 in Osage City, Kansas. She was the oldest daughter of Gladys Irene and Kirby Rector. Jean was a former Day Care provider and a member of the Topeka Genealogy Society.
She married Kenneth J. Clerico on September 9, 1945 in Kansas City, Kansas. He preceded her in death on July 12, 2004.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Jeanie Clerico of Topeka, Ks., her sister, Marcella White of Topeka, Ks.; three granddaughters and their families: Jami and Pat Barr of Pensacola, Fl., Kelli and Jody Brandenburgh, Topeka; and Linzi Weilert, Emporia, Ks.; five great grandchildren, Cooper Barr, Jorden and Dominic Owens, Amaya Weilert and Aydan Brandenburgh, and many friends who will all miss her very much.
Jean donated her body to K.U. Medical Center for Anatomical Research. A Celebration of her life will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home followed by a gathering of friends and family at Lexington Park Assisted Living Center.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Midland Hospice or the Topeka Genealogy Society and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 West Sixth Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66603.
