Frank J. Urban, 95, Topeka, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2008 at Manor Care Health Services.He was born October 31, 1912 in Antonino, Kansas the son of Joseph and Margaret Miller Urban. Frank served in the United States Army for nine years.Mr. Urban lived in Goodland from 1947 to 1962 where he owned and operated Urban’s Automotive and Machine Shop. In 1962 he moved to Atwood where he was a mechanic for Senecal’s Chevrolet Garage. He moved to Topeka in 1966 where he worked for M. Katch & Company before retiring in 1972.Frank was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.Mr. Urban was married to Helen Zerr on November 4, 1941 in Park, Kansas. She survives.Other survivors include; one son Joseph Adam “Jay” Urban of Omaha, NE, three sisters, Ida Swindell and Josephine Gibbs both of Topeka and Esther Ryan of Santa Rosa, CA.He was preceded in death by; two brothers, Robert and Jacob and two sisters, Rose Walters and Bertha Pfannenstiel.Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery at Perry, KS with military honors provided by a Fort Riley Funeral Detail.
