Norma Lee Holmes, 75, of Topeka, died February 7, 2008 at Stormont-Vail Hospital Emergency Room. She was born on August 2, 1932 at Bendena, Kansas the daughter of James Marvinand Leila Mae (Henning) Delk. Norma graduated from Troy High School. She was the Director of Housekeeping for Brewster Place from 1967 until her retirement in 1997. Norma was married to Richard Dean Hutcherson on December 26, 1954 in Troy, Kansas. They later divorced. She married Louis T. Holmes on June 27, 1987 in Topeka, and he preceded her in death on June 25, 2003. Norma was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church, Pilot International, Pilot Club of Topeka, and the Ladies of the Moose. She was an active volunteer for Alzheimer’s and Brain Minders which is a safety program for children. She will be remembered for her love of her family, traveling, and playing golf. Norma is survived by two daughters; Deana Haslett and husband Steve and Kim Anno and husband Rick all of Topeka; a step-daughter Jean Shriver and step-son Steve Holmes both of Topeka; one brother Darrel Delk and wife Mary Lou of Meriden, Ks., and a sister-in-law Margaret Doris “Dottie” Delk of Troy, Ks. She is also survived by four grandchildren; Jeff Anno, Sarah Anno, Kristen Haslett and Alicia Haslett. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Neal and Woodrow Delk and a sister Lois Robison. Norma will lie in state at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Sunday after 2:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the Oakland United Methodist Church with interment to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
