Donald Eugene Brown, 66, of Topeka, died January 15, 2008 at his home. He was born on July 9, 1941 in Topeka, Kansas the son of Roy and Amalia (Urbanek) Brown. Donald served in the U.S. Navy from 1960 to 1964. He worked in the hospitality and food service industry before he began working for the State of Kansas. After his retirement from the state he worked for Sheltered Living. Donald was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. He is survived by his mother, Amalia Brown of Topeka, three sisters, Virginia “Ginny” Hill of Bartlett, TN., Shirley Wempe and husband Jack of Brooksville, FL., and Barbara Tinoco and friend Larry Van Meter of Sunrise Beach, MO., numerous nieces and nephews, two sons, Michael Brown of Topeka and Joseph Brown of Florida, and two daughters Anna and Rene’ both of Florida. Mr. Brown will lie in state at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Sunday after 2:00 p.m. where a Daughters of Isabella Rosary will be at 4:30 p.m. and a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
