Tylar Lea Blankenship, 17, Topeka, Kansas, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2008 at Midland Hospice. Tylar was born September 14, 1990 in Topeka, Kansas.
Tylar is survived by her parents, Flint and Rose Mary Blankenship, of the home, her grandfather Bill McMurphy of Sabetha, Kansas, her best friend Sheila Mossman, Topeka, special grandmothers Elaine Norris, Topeka, Nancy Boswell, Lawrence, Kansas and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Tylar was preceded in death by her sister, Heather Blankenship on July 30, 2006.
Other survivors in her biological parents, Mark and Jodi Harvey, sisters TaBetha, TeAira, Taygon and Tanneil Harvey. Tylar had many, many loving caregivers from Advocare Home Health of Wamego, Kansas, Caring Hearts and Caring Home Care of Topeka.
Tylar had been challenged since birth with multiple disabilities, but her spirit always held strong. Tylar loved creating music on her keyboard and jingling her bell bracelet, always greeting everyone with her trademark smile and a Hi.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Mater Dei’s Holy Name Church. Cremation will follow. Tylar will lie in state from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. today at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where a parish rosary will be prayed
at 4:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Stormont-Vail Pediatrics Dept., TARC or Midland Hospice Care, Inc. and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Street, Topeka, Kansas 66603.
