Carol M. Purcell, 81, of Topeka, died January 1, 2008 at the Topeka Presbyterian Manor.
She was born on March 14, 1926 in Omaha, Nebraska the son of Roy C. and May L. (Barber) Mitchell.
Carol was a Supervisor for the Claims Department of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas.
She was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
Carol married William B. Purcell on January 6, 1945 in California. He preceded her in death on May 19, 1999.
She is survived by two sons, Richard Purcell and wife Carol of Paxico and Roy Purcell and wife Bonnie of Mesa, Arizona; one daughter, Charyll Boggs and husband Robert of Topeka; a brother Jack Mitchell and wife Alta Mae of California, six grandchildren, Angela Soper of Topeka, Dana McNutt of Topeka, Lisa Wielert of Kansas City, Amy Polzin of Kansas City, Jada Finney of Colorado and Crystal Purcell of Colorado, and twelve great grandchildren.
She will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Friday after 2:00 p.m. where a Parish Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Eskridge Cemetery, Eskridge, Kansas.
