Agnes Elliott, 84, of Topeka, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at Midland Hospice House.
She was born in Topeka, Kansas on March 16, 1923 the daughter of Jacob and Anna (Urban) Schaefer Sr.
Agnes was a talented quilt and drapery maker and had her own custom drapery shop.
She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Agnes married Lloyd Elliott Sr. in September of 1947.
He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a son Lloyd Elliott Jr.
She leaves two grandsons, Shawn Elliott and wife Paula of Dallas, Texas, Brian Elliott and wife Lisa of Topeka, one great grandson, Ethan Elliott of Topeka; two step great-grandsons; and four step great-great grandsons; two brothers, Joe Schaefer of Topeka and Pete Schaefer of Las Vegas, Nevada, and two sisters, Irene Lungstrum of Omaha and Frances Gigous of Topeka and many nieces and nephews.
Agnes will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Friday after 2:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. A Parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
