Marlene C. Middendorf, 74, of Topeka, died December 29, 2007 at Midland Hospice House.
She was born in Roseland, Nebraska on July 25, 1933 the daughter of John and Edith (Mangers) Faber.
Marlene attended school in Hastings, Nebraska. She married Melvin Middendorf on July 18, 1964 in Hastings, Nebraska.
Marlene will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed making ceramics, playing card games and watching her kids and grandchildren play sports.
She was a member of Mater Dei’s Assumption Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband Melvin of the home, three daughters, Rose Doucette of Topeka, Laurie Phister of Lawton, OK., and Melissa Middendorf of Kansas City, Kansas, and two sons, Karman Hoppens of Topeka and Terry Middendorf of Meriden, thirteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and one twin sister, Arlene Jones.
Mrs. Middendorf will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Tuesday after 2:00 p.m. where a Parish Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Mater Dei’s Assumption Church. Interment will be in Penwell-Gabel’s Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 West Sixth St., Topeka, Kansas 66603.
