Charlene Sue Calvin

Charlene “Sue” Calvin, 64, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2007 at Midland Hospice.

Sue owned “The Dock” Convenience Store for many years before she retired in 2006.

She was born January 27, 1943 in Columbus, KS the daughter of Charles and Elnora (Starkey) Davis.  Sue was a 1961 graduate of Topeka High and has attended Washburn University. 

Sue enjoyed her grandchildren, crossword puzzles and politics.

She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church.

Sue was married to Joseph Andrew Calvin on January 4, 1967 at Holy Name Church.  He preceded her in death on April 8, 1996.

Survivors include:  three sons; Joseph E. Calvin  and wife Robin of Estes Park, CO, Michael A. Calvin and wife Kathy, Matthew W. Calvin; one daughter, Mary L. Calvin-Herold  and husband Leonard  and one brother, Bill Davis,  all of Topeka.  Six grandchildren, Cameron, Katie, Nick, Alex, Rachel and Corrina also survive.

Sue will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Friday where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7:00 p.m.  A  rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m.  Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
