Marvin F. Dillman, 87, Topeka, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2007 at McCrite Plaza. He had been a resident of Atria Hearthstone East from 2005 to 2007. Marvin was employed as a Railroad Clerk at the Union Pacific Railroad for many years before he retired in 1980. He was born October 16, 1920 in Topeka, the son of Edgar and Edna Gregg Dillman. He was a 1938 graduate of Topeka High School. Mr. Dillman served in the United States Air Force during World War II. Marvin had an avid interest in railroads, World War II , and the history of the U.S. Air Force. Marvin was a member of Transportation Communication Union Lodge #284. He was married to Golda Edman on February 11, 1942 in Topeka. She preceded him in death on November 23, 2001. Survivors include; one son, Mark A. Dillman and his wife Cindy of Topeka, and two grandsons, Carl Dillman of Topeka and Alex Dillman of Eglin Air Force Base in Florida. Mr. Dillman was cremated. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday at Atria Hearthstone East, 3415 SW 6th, where the family will receive friends from 10-12 a.m. Private inurnment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery’s Veteran’s Section.
