Edna Marie Dye

Edna Marie (Knoll) Dye, age 80, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2007 at Manor Care. She was born February 18, 1927 in St. Peter, KS, the daughter of Frank and Eva Richmeier Scheck. Edna enjoyed refinishing antiques. Mrs. Dye was a member of Mater Dei’s Assumption Parish, Ladies of Columbus and the auxiliary of the Philip Billard Post #1650 of the VFW. She was married to George A. Knoll who preceded her in death on March 15, 1959. Then she married Earl Dye who also predeceased her. Survivors include; two daughters, Barbara A. Rapoza of Osage City, Mary Ortega of Topeka; a son, George A. Knoll, Jr. of Topeka; two sisters, Lillian (Isaac) Kennedy, Carol (Ray) McGinnis of Topeka; three brothers, Junior (Sharon) Scheck of Topeka, Walter (Nancy) Scheck of Paxico and William “Bill” Scheck of Albuquerque, N.M., Nine Grandchildren, Eighteen Great Grandchildren and One Great Great Grandchild. Mrs. Dye will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Wednesday after 2:00 p.m. where a Parish Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Mater Dei’s Assumption Church.
