Rose M. Desch, 87, of Topeka, passed away Friday, November 16, 2007 at her home.
Rose was employed by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment for many years before she retired.
She was born April 12, 1920 in Topeka, the daughter of Casper and Mary (Jacob) Desch. Rose loved to garden.
Mrs. Desch was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Altar Society at church..
She was married to Darrell E. Desch on September 3, 1949 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on November 7, 2006.
Survivors include: a son, Gregory Desch of Topeka; a daughter, Kathy Modin of Topeka; four grandchildren, Lindsey Modin and Matthew Modin of Topeka, Aaron Modin of Kansas City, Mo. and Melissa Modin of Overland Park, Ks., one great granddaughter, three sisters, Catherine Hafner of Topeka, Mary Parry of Topeka, and Florence Negri of Wichita, two brothers, George Desch of Topeka and Raymond Desch of San Antonio, Texas.
Rose will lie in state today after 2:00 p.m. at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where a Parish Rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. and an Altar Society Rosary will be at 4:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
