Mary Joann Hutley

Mary JoAnn Hutley, 77, of Topeka, died November 7, 2007 at Midland Hospice House.She was born in Topeka, Kansas on April 19, 1930 the daughter of Vernon and Alice Elizabeth Carroll Best.  Mary was retired from St. Francis Hospital where she had practiced as a registered nurse for many years.She will be remembered for her love of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, collecting antiques, reading and going to auctions and garage sales.  Mary was married to Francis J. Hutley in Topeka, Kansas on June 16, 1951.  He preceded her in death on May 19, 1980.  She was recently  predeceased by her companion Marion Starkey.Survivors include her three daughters; Cheryl Hutley, Jan Adame and husband John, Michele James and Patrick Fruits, and her son Stan Hutley.  She is also survived by two grandchildren, Melanie and Shannon Adame and four great grandchildren.A visitation will be held on Sunday after 6:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. and a family rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home.  Services will be held on Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with interment following at Mount Calvary Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice Care Inc. and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 West Sixth Ave., Topeka, Kansas  66603.
