Loretta M. Dreher, 72, of Topeka, died November 11, 2007 at Stormont-Vail Hospital. Loretta was born on August 29, 1935 in Blaine, Kansas the daughter of Emmett Ambrose and Mary Lorena (Kennedy) Ryan. She was a graduate of Blaine High School and a member of the Alumni Association. She retired on July 1, 1999 from the Kansas Department of Transportation where she had worked for over 20 years. Loretta loved to quilt and research genealogy. She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church where she helped with the funeral dinners. She married Lawrence J. Dreher on July 23, 1955 in Blaine, Kansas. He survives. Other survivors include a son Brian D. Dreher and a daughter Brenda K. Kroll both of Topeka, three grandchildren, Brian Box, Lindsay Lee and Angela Dreher; a sister, Dorothy Cherney of Clyde, Kansas, and brothers Charles Ryan of Blaine, Kansas and Frank Ryan of Mission, Kansas. She was preceded in death by a brother Michael Ryan. Mrs. Dreher will lie in state on Thursday after 4:00 p.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church where a Vigil with a Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
