Rosemary Deters

August 16, 1926 — October 21, 2007

Rosemary Cecilia Deters, 81, of Topeka, died October 21, 2007 at the Kansas City Hospice House. Rosemary was born in Manhattan, Kansas on August 16, 1926 the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Muckenthaler) Noll. She was retired from Social Security where she had been a Secretary and she also worked for Kansas Social & Rehabilitation Services. Rosemary was a member of Mater Dei’s Assumption Catholic Church where she was a member of the Altar Society.  She will be remembered for her love of reading and photography.  Rosemary also collected music boxes.   She married Donald J. Deters in Topeka, Kansas on January 17, 1956.  He survives.  She is also survived by her poodle, Rene; a sister Rayonna Mock Savage (John) of Alma, and her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law:Arnold and Kathleen Miller of Edgerton, Mo., Betty Miller of Linn Valley, Ks., Marjorie Bergmann of Mulvane, Ks., John and Annemarie Deters of Colorado Springs, Co., Frank and Myra Deters of Gardner, Ks., Charles and Mary Lou Deters of Topeka, Bill and Kathy Deters of Hedgesville, West Virginia, Tom Quaney of Burlingame, Ks., Andy Durkes of McLouth, Ks., and many nieces, nephews and godchildren. Rosemary will lie in state at Mater Dei’s Assumption Catholic Church after 9:00 a.m. on Friday where the family will receive friends.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the Church.  Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, or Kansas City Hospice and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 West Sixth Ave., Topeka, Kansas  66603.
