Dorothy M. West

Dorothy M. West, 90, of Topeka, died September 16, 2007 at Plaza West Regional Health Center.

She was born January 27, 1917 in Topeka, the daughter of William and Margaret J. Mulvihill Hetherington.

Dorothy worked as a Bridal Consultant for Crosby Brothers downtown for a time.  She was one of the founding members of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

Dorothy married Thomas Francis "Frank" West on October 15, 1936 at Assumption Church in Topeka.  He predeceased her on November 24, 1990.  She is survived by her son Tom West and his wife Bev of rural Lecompton, a daughter Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Gannon and her husband Tom of Sahuarita, AZ, four grandchildren; Kelly Paulson, Brian Gannon, Matt West and Mike West and by two great grandchildren, Lindsey and Jordan Paulson.

Dorothy will lie in state at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church on Wednesday from 9-11 am where a Parish Rosary will be led at 9:00 a.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the church at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday.  Interment wil follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
