Susan Young

December 21, 1958 — September 14, 2007

Suzanna Young, 48, of Fort Wayne, Indiana died September 14, 2007 after a sudden illness. She was born in Topeka, Kansas on December 21, 1958 the daughter of Ernest J. and Inez (Rodriguez) Young.Suzanna was a 1976 graduate of Hayden High School and attended Washburn University. She was a lab technician for Essex Wire from 1978 to 1997. Suzanna will be remembered as a giving person who enjoyed helping others. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed gardening and her family. While living in Fort Wayne she was a member of St. Vincent’s Catholic Church. Suzanna was preceded in death by her only child, Brian who died on June 25, 1997 and her father Ernest on November 16, 1981. Survivors include her mother, Inez Young of Topeka; her siblings, Tom Young and wife Carole of Fort Wayne, IN., her twin sister Rachel Gilson and husband Raymond of Fort Wayne, IN., and Frank Young and Angie Young both of Topeka. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews; Christina, Joey, Cassie, Allison, Taylor, Sierra, Christian, Marla and Michelle. Suzanna will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Mondayafter 2:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. A Parish Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Mater Dei’s Assumption Catholic Church. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and from 6-8 p.m. at the D.O. McComb Funeral Home, Pine Valley Park, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. A graveside service will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vincent’s Cemetery next to her son in Indiana.
