Lawrence E. Hochard

April 6, 1923 — August 18, 2007

Lawrence E. Hochard, 84, Topeka, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2007 at his home.

 

Mr. Hochard was a carpenter for several contractors in Topeka including J. A. Lundgren and Lee & Bueltel.

 

He was born April 6, 1923 in Centralia the son of Charles and Mary Miller Hochard.  Lawrence served in the US Navy during WW II.  He loved to farm and garden.

 

Mr. Hochard was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

 

He was married to Bernice Heiserman on June 7, 1951 in Beattie.  She preceded him in death on September 5, 1984.

 

Survivors include:  One daughter, Sharon Deever and her husband Bob of Topeka; a son, Hugh Hochard of Topeka; two sisters, Marcella Smith of Topeka and Dorothy Kent of Douglasville, GA; two brothers, Bill Hochard of Topeka and Donald Hochard of Farley, Mo.  Five grandchildren; Corey, Jeff, Travis, Kelly and Tracy and two great grandchildren, Blake and Reece also survive.

 

The funeral service will be held 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until the service hour.  Private inurnment will be held at a later time in Mount Hope Cemetery.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church and sent in care of the funeral home.
